Meet the team at Barron and Associates. We are a group of experienced Psychologists, Psychological Associates and Social Workers and Psychotherapists offering a wide range of psychological assessments, treatments and counselling. Each team member brings their own unique knowledge and experience to our office, allowing us to welcome children, teens, adults, couples, and families to our centrally-located office in Windsor for psychological & counselling services.
Dr. Melissa C. Barron, C.Psych.
Dr. Barron received her Master’s and Doctorate degrees from the University of Windsor, both in Clinical Psychology. Her services include psychological treatments and assessments with individuals, couples, families and groups. Although she works with a variety of presenting issues, including adjustment, grief, anxiety and depression, her particular areas of clinical interest include crisis intervention and trauma therapies with military and emergency responders and their families.
Dr. Barron is a member of the College of Psychologists of Ontario, Canadian Psychological Association, Ontario Psychological Association, American Academy of Experts in Traumatic Stress (Diplomate status), Association of Traumatic Stress Specialists, the Society for Police and Criminal Psychology and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.

Office Manager
Jessica will be your first point of contact at Barron & Associates and will help you to get set up in the system by completing intake information and coordinating your initial appointment. She will respond promptly and sensitively to your needs with commitment to client confidentiality.
Her varied responsibilities within the practice ensure that the process of receiving services from Barron and Associates will flow as smoothly as possible and that you’ll experience personal, efficient and comprehensive service.
Ms. Tara Kuthun-Berlasty, MA, BN, RN, RP, CCC
Ms. Kuthun-Berlasty is an RN with the College of Nurses of Ontario, and a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario. Ms. Kuthun-Berlasty received her MA degree in Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University in 2022. She also holds a BN degree from Athabasca University (2009) and a 3-year RN Diploma in Health Sciences from St. Clair College (2000). Ms. Kuthun-Berlasty brings with her 22+ years of experience supporting individuals and families in the areas of psychotherapy, psychiatry, community nursing, case management, pain management, geriatrics, and 10-years of critical care nursing at the University of Michigan. Ms. Kuthun-Berlasty uses a humanistic-existential framework which forms the basis for a mutual understanding of your goals, values, and beliefs. Areas of focus include depression, anxiety, living with mental health diagnoses, trauma, interpersonal conflict, with a special interest in helping frontline workers navigate the unique challenges that they face.
Ms. Kuthun-Berlasty is a member of the Ontario Society of Registered Psychotherapists (OSRP), the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) and the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario (RNAO).
Ms. Cailynn Laprise, M.A.
Ms. Laprise is a Master's level therapist at Barron and Associates. She received her Master's Degree in Applied (Clinical) Psychology from Laurentian University. Ms. Laprise is working under the supervision of Dr. Barron to provide services via telephone and video conferencing only. She has experience providing treatment to adults of all ages and primarily works with presenting issues of anxiety, depression, grief, stress, adjustment and trauma.
Ms. Locke Billingsley, MSW, RSW, Social Worker, Psychotherapist
Ms. Locke Billingsley received her Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Windsor Ontario, Bachelor of Social Work Degree from the University of Victoria, British Columbia and a Bachelor of Health Science from the University of Western Ontario. Ms. Locke Billingsley is registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW). She brings a diverse portfolio to our team, with a combined experience of 20+ years of supporting individuals. Ms. Locke Billingsley focuses on a Holistic Humanistic Strength-Based Approach using psychotherapeutic techniques, while assisting you with your concerns.
Ms. Jennifer Ranjit, B.A., M.A. (Candidate)
Ms. Ranjit is completing her Master's Degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Barron to provide psychological services to children, adolescents and adults with a range of presenting problems. Ms. Ranjit has experience providing client-centred and cognitive behavioural therapy and primarily works with presenting issues of anxiety, depression, procrastination and stress. Her other areas of clinical interest include working with youth with interpersonal and behavioural concerns, inner child and re-parenting and emotion-focused and mindfulness-based interventions.
Ms. Brianna Fougere , B.Sc., M.A. (Ph.D. Candidate)
Ms. Fougere is completing her Master’s Degree in Clinical Neuropsychology from the University of Windsor. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Barron to provide psychological services to adults with various presenting issues. Ms. Fougere has experience providing cognitive behavioural therapy and neuropsychological assessments to adults. Ms. Fougere’s clinical interests include the psychological treatment of anxiety, trauma, and neurological disorders.
Ms. Jenna Parsons, M.Ed., M.A. (Ph.D. Candidate)
Ms. Parsons is a practicum student at Barron and Associates and is working towards her MA in Clinical Child Psychology at the University of Windsor. Ms. Parsons received hr Master of Education in Developmental Psychology and Education from the University of Toronto and a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Psychology from Dalhousie University. Ms. Parsons has experience providing treatment to adults experiencing complex challenges, including suicidal ideation, academic concerns, anxiety, depression and trauma. She is trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy based interventions. Her areas of interest include psychological treatment with children, adolescents, adults and families who have experienced trauma.
Ms. Yiu-Yin Chang, B.A., M.A. (Ph.D.Candidate)
Ms. Chang is completing her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor. She is working under the supervision of Dr. Barron. Ms. Chang has experience working with adults experiencing a variety of presenting concerns, including depression, anxiety, eating concerns, substance use, interpersonal conflicts, acculturation stressors and trauma. She has great interests in assessment and treatment, considering social, cultural and individual differences. Her therapeutic style is primarily based on cognitive behavioural therapy, integrating techniques from the brief psychodynamic approach, process-experiential emotion-focused therapy, and acceptance commitment therapy.
Ms. Morgan Sterling, B.A., (M.A. Candidate)
Ms. Sterling is currently pursuing her Master’s degree in Adult Clinical Psychology at the University of Windsor, having previously earned her Bachelor of Arts with Honours in Psychology from Queen’s University. As a practicum student under the supervision of Dr. Barron, she is building a strong foundation in therapeutic practice. Ms. Sterling is trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and integrates mindfulness and a client-centered approach into her work. She has experience supporting clients through a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, social anxiety, depression, self-esteem issues, and stress related to relationships and academics. Her other areas of clinical interest include self-esteem and self-compassion development, perfectionism, and values clarification and motivation.
